Show a little faith / There’s magic in the night
Bruce Springsteen’s iconic rock ‘n’ roll poetry sums the devotion on display in a current exhibit at Columbia College. Three of our area’s most well-regarded photographers — Stephen Bybee, Kevin Dingman and Notley Hawkins — gather their images, together building a thorough portrait of mid-Missouri at night.
The show, titled Nocturnal Vision, explores the night’s charms and confessions, its spiritual geometry and a gleaming only visible across our darkest hours.
Like brake lights reflected in a puddled street, the trio’s purposes bleed together; they all show off similar elements, move toward common ends. And yet certain distinctions emerge when looking through each artist’s eye. Here is a brief glance at the body of work each exhibits.
